When In Rome…

August 5, 2022

Do as the Romans do.  Easier said than done.  But we gave it a world- class effort.  Here are a few of my favorite photos!  Thank you for visiting my travel page!!

We did not get thrown into any pits with wild leaping animals looking to eat us.  However, the visit to the Roman Forum was one of my favorite places we visited in Rome!

Italy 2022 took us to Capri, Naples, Florence and Rome.

If you ever go to Capri, you must…hike down the Phoenician Steps. In Capri, the views of the Amalfi Coast are to die for.

My favorite part of our trip was boating in Capri.  The most beautiful site in Capri is the Faraglioni – Steve and I even snagged a good luck kiss while passing under!

In Florence you must come ready to shop, dine and visit museums!

One thing that surprised me was how many shops and cafes there are on every single block.

I will do a separate blog on food and wine!  I thought I had died and gone to heaven with the endless supply of fresh seafood, pasta and wines.   I loved the variety of excellent wines and so many that we do not see in the US.

We took a day trip to famed vineyard Castello di Ama in Tuscany.   My favorite wine I tried was Castello di Ama 2015 San Lorenzo.

No visit to Rome is complete without seeing the majestic Trevi Fountain, made of marble.  The fountain is glorious at night, all lit up!  You can see it was slightly easier to get a decent vacay photo of my Emery than Stevie!

Moving by train between the cities was excellent – their train system is lightning fast and easy for travel.

This summer trip was a feast for the eyes, the stomach, the palate.  What a wonderful feeling to dust off the passports and explore Europe’s gems.  Thank you for sharing my photo gallery with me!  Stay tuned for my Food and Wine Blog!
